How to check if you are on a gritting route

We now have an online map that will show you if your road is on a gritting route.

We know from previous winters that a lot of people want to find out about our gritting routes. On the updated winter pages of our website, you will find a new option to view our gritting routes on a map. All you need to do is enter your road name, and you will see a map showing which roads in your area will be gritted.

You can also use the map to request gritting if your road is not on a gritting route. Our website also has lots of other winter weather information and advice including what happens to bin collections in bad weather, school closures and safe driving tips.

You can also use our automated telephone line to check if you are on a gritting route. Just dial 01274 431000 and choose the gritting requests option.
